Im pretty sure major part of current world handhelds are running some state of Android in them since Android is in 43% of devices in current world, when iOs is only in every fifth device.. meaning 20% of handhelds of world.
But anyway.. No. I dont own a iPhone so I barely know anything about customizing them, but I do know it's alot harder, and alot less "free" compared to Android.
This is basically the same way I do all my setups too! Nice tutorial though, I've been meaning to do the same thing for awhile, but mine would've just been all text. You make it beautiful and fun to follow Nice job!
If you save your jpg. in maximum quality (12 in ps)you cant see difference with pure eye between it and png. BUT! My phone is not HD screened so im not sure if there is truly difference between jpg. and png. in 720x1280 screens... you tell me if you have 1!

I mean, in the scope of this tutorial, it's better to tell people to save their wallpapers as PNG files. That would eliminate the chance of anyone saving it as a low quality JPG, which is important, in my opinion, because the icons are going to be a part of the wallpaper.
Of course, as you said, saving it as a maximum quality JPG would achieve the same visible result, but some people may not save it this way, since I don't think you specified to.
